Our mission is to be a safe, accessible space where everyone is welcome with the aim to build and strengthen community, reduce poverty and address food insecurity.
About This Cause
Veith House is a neighborhood hub in the North End of Halifax that provides services and opportunities to families, youth, children and newcomers facing barriers due to mental illness and/or poverty. Our three pillars include social work services, holistic mental health services and community capacity building. Veith House offers: wellness workshops,social work services, free short-term counselling,free after school kids drop-in program, food/housing initiatives, Holiday Support, coffee hours, social events, supervised access, monthly community meals, a community garden, North End Community Circle, art therapy, summer camp, yoga, free vet clinics, community barbecues, Christmas Tree Lighting, etc. We are an inclusive neighbourhood hub that provides equitable and relevant services and opportunities, to foster a healthier more vibrant community.
