To assist the most vulnerable citizens in Welland and the surrounding area in their time of need by providing food and housing stability, and to empower change in their lives by increasing their future resilience to poverty and increasing their capacity to be self-sustaining through counselling and training

About This Cause

The Hope Centre offers a Community Social Service Hub that is home to a variety of organizations and community groups to offer individuals a central access point to a range of needed social services under one roof. Our partners include the District School Board of Niagara for literacy and basic skill training, CASON (Community Addiction Service of Niagara) for addictions counseling, YWCA for Women’s Transitional Housing, Canadian Mental Health Association for community support, justice services and Real Work and OATC (Ontario Addictions Treatment Centre) to name a few. Our programs include a food bank, soup kitchen, Homeless Shelter, Transitional housing programs, utility assistance, tax clinics, clothing and furniture vouchers, I.D Clinics, community coaches, Return to Hope Counseling (addresses causes of homelessness and facilitates like skills support and secure long term housing) trusteeship that budget money and many more. The Hope Centre’s mandate is to create positive and inclusive opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized individuals, empowering them to be active participants in their own lives and in their community
