The mission of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation is to support and enhance our hospital as a community and regional centre of excellence in healthcare.
About This Cause
Established in 1970, Yarmouth Hospital Foundation provides a way for town & municipal units, individuals, businesses and community groups to support the Yarmouth Regional Hospital and its number one priority: building better health care. The role of hospital foundations has become increasingly important in Nova Scotia to ensure that our hospitals have the equipment and facilities needed to provide excellent health care. “Due to multiple competing priorities within Nova Scotia Health, here at Yarmouth Regional Hospital we depend on the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation for support to purchase equipment that our staff and physicians need to provide care to patients.” Tracey Watkins-Allen, Site Lead Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Through our annual mail appeals, memorial & tribute programs, major campaigns, community fundraisers, gifts in wills, and our WE CARE Radiothon & Sou'West Walkathon events, the Foundation works with our community to provide continued support and financial assistance towards the purchase of equipment and services that improve the health and wellness of families and individuals of Yarmouth, Digby & Shelburne counties. Committed to more than just a slogan, the Foundation has received and maintained the prestigious distinction of accreditation granted by the Standards Program with Imagine Canada. Accredited nonprofits have completed a rigorous independent peer review of operating and governance practices.
