The YMCA of Greater Toronto is a charity that ignites the potential in people, helping them grow, lead, and give back to their communities.
About This Cause
The YMCA of Greater Toronto has a 170-year track record of delivering vital services to address our communities’ most pressing social issues — from housing to unemployment, social isolation, poverty, inequity, and more. Last year, our generous donors made it possible for us to support 680,000 people at over 460 locations across the GTA. Every day at the Y, youth experiencing homelessness get a hot meal, safe place to sleep, and wrap-around support programs at our shelter and drop-in centre; parents can return to school or pursue their career while their kids learn and grow in child care; job seekers find support as they navigate the labour market; teens become trailblazers in our camping and outdoor education programs; newcomers are welcomed and supported as they settle in a new country; and older adults stay active and connected to their communities. By supporting the Y, you are helping address pressing challenges from declining mental health to the housing crisis, loneliness and isolation, and more.
