Mission Statement
The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA is comprised of two branches: The Ben Weider JCC and the Harry Bronfman Y Country Camp. We provide a welcoming, pluralistic environment where the Montreal community can access a range of programs for the body, mind and soul.
About This Cause
The Y provides over 800 children and adults in need, including recent immigrants, with year-long memberships, giving access to the Y’s top-notch fitness and training center, 85+ weekly classes — and a sense of belonging. Supports children, adults, and families with special needs, by offering 60+ hours a week of inclusive, social interactions that break isolation, encourage self-expression, and promote health and fitness. Enables individuals and families to connect with Jewish life and culture and the community through Hebrew language classes, interactions with Israel, holiday events, and more. Enriches the lives of children, thousands of whom can benefit from the Y’s 100+ hours a week of sports, swim, language, dance and music programming, and unforgettable day and summer camp experiences. Empowers community leaders of tomorrow through international, teen leadership training and engagement programs. Provides lower-income kids the opportunity to attend YCC, the Y’s 650-acre summer camp located in the Laurentians, where they can water-ski, rock climb, canoe, make friends and connect to Jewish life. Continues our 100+ year legacy of providing a welcoming, pluralistic environment where all Montrealers can gather for social and physical activities — from celebrating milestones to training for the Olympic Games
