British Columbia’s Knowledge Network is a viewer-supported public broadcaster. Our mission is to provide all British Columbians with a trusted alternative for the commercial-free exploration of life, connecting them to the world through television, web, and mobile platforms.
About This Cause
We Inspire & Inform. British Columbia’s Knowledge Network is where stories live that speak to our time. Funded by an annual operating grant from the British Columbia provincial government and donations from loyal viewers, Knowledge Network offers commercial-free documentaries, arts and culture, drama and children’s programs from BC, Canada and around the world. Through the commissioning of content for broadcast and digital distribution, it also plays a valued role in supporting the independent production community in British Columbia. Through the Knowledge Kids service, our youngest viewers have a safe, trusted environment, offering good fun that sparks a child’s imagination and love of learning. Knowledge currently includes two 24/7 digital television networks, two websites, multiple mobile Apps, and a print magazine. Knowledge is now available anywhere in Canada, anytime and on any device. And, with or without a cable or satellite television subscription, Knowledge programming is now available On-Demand and as LIVE streaming over the Internet in British Columbia. With the generous support of donors (our "Knowledge Partners"), Knowledge has created a vibrant, diverse and indispensable public service that British Columbians and Canadians alike, have come to love.
