Mission Statement

To lead the growth of tennis in Canada.

About This Cause

Tennis Canada, whose origins can be traced back to 1890, is a non-profit sports organization that supports the development, promotion and advancement of tennis in our country. In order to do so, the organization focuses its efforts in three areas : – The Rogers Cups (The “Engine”) : Through proceeds from the Rogers Cups, two top ATP World Tour and WTA events, Tennis Canada is able to invest annually to grow the game and to fulfill its mission at all levels, with a focus on development of the next generation of champions; participation of children in grassroots programs; and affordable and accessible opportunities for recreational play year-round. – High Performance (The “Inspiration”) : Ever since we established a National training centre, Canadian players have been on the rise. Milos Raonic first inspired many kids to take to tennis. With upcoming athletes like Bianca Andreescu who, at the age of 18, already won two major titles so far this year, or Félix Auger-Aliassime who has broken many records at 18, we can expect their success will inspire thousands of kids to pick up a tennis racquet and adopt our sport for life. – Community Facility Development (“Capacity Building”) : Tennis Canada’s next stage of development is to ensure Canada has affordable public covered courts around the country, working in partnership with the provincial tennis associations and municipalities.
