About This Cause
Empowering Potential: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District, we believe every child deserves the chance to unlock their full potential. For over 50 years, we’ve been transforming the lives of children and youth aged 6–18 through mentoring programs that build confidence, resilience, and brighter futures. Our Impact Your contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of young people in our community. Last year alone, we supported almost 300 children and youth through the following programs: Community-Based Mentoring: One-on-one matches between caring adult mentors and children, fostering lasting relationships that promote personal growth and stability. In-School Mentoring: Weekly mentoring sessions that help students improve self-esteem, relationships, and academic engagement. Go Girls! & Game On!: Group-based programs promoting physical activity, balanced living, and positive mental health for youth. Every program is provided free of charge, ensuring no child is left behind. Your Support Matters We rely solely on the generosity of our community to fund these life-changing programs. Through special events like Bowl for Kids Sake, and Golf for Kids Sake, along with targeted campaigns and community support, your contributions help us mentor more children who are waiting for a match.
