Mission Statement

Radha Madhav Cultural Association of Calgary connects, cultivates, and engages the community through spiritual practices and by service to community.

About This Cause

Radha Madhav Cultural Association (RMCA) is a registered not for profit Charitable Organization based in Calgary and is the local chapter of worldwide community of ISKCON. It is also publicly known as Iskcon Calgary. RMCA values and celebrates the diverse history, identities, and cultures within our community. We embrace an intersectional, multi-issue approach to community building in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace. We strive to bring the community closer together for the purpose of teaching a simpler, more natural way of life. We achieve these goals with a two-point approach of promoting the well-being of society by teaching the science of spirituality according to Bhagavad-gita & Srimad-Bhagavatam, and supporting community initiatives in our local communities. Some of our community initiatives are listed below and we seek your support, volunteer hours and donations to keep them going. • Food for Life (FFL) program of Iskcon is the world’s largest vegetarian food distribution program serving millions of meals daily, with projects in over 60 countries. RMCA runs the local Calgary chapter with programs at Calgary Drop-In Center on a regular basis where we provide free meals for 800-1000 clients. • RMCA runs a community kitchen program every Sunday where we serve free meals to all who participate. This program provides free meals to 250-400 individuals regularly. • RMCA facilities are community hubs for new immigrants to Canada and we help them introduce themselves in the community and help them with local support and orientation as required. • RMCA runs youth programs where we participate in community spring clean up drives, volunteer opportunities at managing our cultural and outdoor events and help foster relationships to develop long term sense of community. • RMCA does an annual Festival of Chariot which is open to the entire Calgary where we provide free meals to over 5000 Calgarians and host local talents in traditional Indian music and dance shows. This is a great event for promoting multicultural information sharing and for recognizing & appreciating each other.
