About This Cause
Abrigo started in 1990 as an agency assisting primarily Portuguese speaking women and children who were experiencing domestic violence and abuse. Since then, the agency has grown to offer a variety of social programs and services for seniors, youth, newcomers and men who abuse. The Abrigo team consists of 16 talented and skilled employees that reflect the diverse cultures we serve. Abrigo staff members take pride in providing the best possible care and service to each of the 6,500 clients we assist annually. Throughout the pandemic and today Abrigo has continually served our clients to the fullest through telephone and virtual counselling. Today, our office is open Monday through Thursday during normal business hours for walk-in clients and Friday by-appointment-only. Abrigo connects people to possibilities.
