About This Cause
United Way of Calgary and Area exists to improve local lives. We do this by bringing together agencies, donors, corporations, and government to identify and solve complex social issues in a collective effort to build a resilient community where everyone thrives. United Way believes Calgary can be a place where every person living in poverty has a path out of it. It can be a place where all children are born into opportunity. And, it can be a place where our communities are connected and thriving. We strategically invest our resources across the following areas to maximize our impact in the community: • Socio-economic well-being (access to basic needs, education, and meaningful employment) • Mental health • Social inclusion • Healthy relationships (helping address domestic violence and intergenerational trauma) • Equity & Diversity • Innovation As a leader in the social sector, United Way holds itself accountable to its community and uses donor dollars effectively and efficiently. Together with our partners and with the caring support of donors, we measure, evaluate, and report back for greater community impact.
