Mission Statement
Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre is an innovative community based, multi-service center. We strive to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We work in partnership with individuals, families and communities to achieve their full potential, paying particular attention to those facing barriers to access, including those who are most vulnerable and at risk.
About This Cause
Since its establishment in 1979, PQCHC has grown alongside the community it serves, widening its array of services to address broader social determinants of health such as access to primary health care services, employment, housing, education, building community capacity, health promotion, mental health and programs for children and youth. Today, while many programs remain focused on the original west end catchment area, a number of services reach out to populations across the City of Ottawa and some reaching residents across the Champlain area. In addition, in 2009 we opened a satellite site, the South Nepean Community Health Centre (SNCHC) located in south Nepean. Today PQCHC and SNCHC encompass More than 200 regular on-going positions 120 active volunteers 250 student placements annually 40 different programs and services 50 service locations Annual budget of over $21 million Over 80 partnerships It is only through the continued dedication of volunteers, community residents, groups, partner agencies and funders that PQCHC has become the comprehensive health and social service organization it is today. Incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, PQ is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The organization remains grounded in the original core values and principles upon which it was built. We look forward to continuing to provide high quality services to our community for years to come.
