About This Cause
Gerstein Crisis Centre was established in 1989. Over the past 30 years, we have provided 24/7 crisis intervention services to adults experiencing mental health and/or addiction crisis. In addition to our crisis telephone line, we provide crisis intervention in the community through our Community Mental Health Crisis Intervention Team and offer short-term stays in our 10 bed crisis facility. We also provide crisis intervention and follow-up services to those experiencing concurrent mental health and addiction crisis through our Concurrent Crisis Management and Follow-up Team. Our 14-bed 'Gerstein on Bloor' facility offers a 30-day stay to individuals experiencing mental health crisis as well as recent interaction with the justice system and to women experiencing mental health crisis and homelessness. In addition to these core services, we offer mental health crisis and suicide intervention training in the community and offer a range of wellness and recovery progamming including WRAP (Wellness and Recovery Action Plan) and FRESH (Finding Recovery through Exercise, Skills and Hope).
