Mission Statement

Autism Canada has been standing with the autistic community in Canada since 1976. With 1 in 50 people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, our mission is simple: Advocate, Educate, and Support with an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of our daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, and friends. Together we can create change and help make the world a more accepting, inclusive and accessible place for everyone on the Autism Spectrum, their families, caregivers and friends.

About This Cause

Our strength lies in our Family Services Team who provide resources and supports to families in need through email, over the phone and via an online database, connecting people to the information they need most. Autism Canada is committed to delivering the highest quality programs and community resources like the national annual Au-Some Conference. Written and presented solely by autistics, Au-Some provides educational resources and community-building opportunities. Autism Canada is home to a first-of-its-kind Search and Rescue for Autism program, enhancing autism awareness among First Responders & Emergency Personnel across the country. Alongside Recognizing Behaviours Training, Autism Canada houses an exceptional catalogue of autism literacy for both the public and private sectors.  Autism Canada also produces Sensory Support Kits, which provide sensory support items and communication aides to help those who may be overwhelmed by stressful situations.
