Mission Statement
Yorktown Family Services is an accredited child and youth mental health agency, serving Toronto for over 30. We help children, youth, young adults, and families in need of mental health resources as well as women and children who are survivors of domestic violence to bring positive change to their lives. Yorktown’s motto is “you have come to the right place”! We ensure that anyone seeking mental health programs or gender-based violence support is connected to the services they need. Yorktown’s services are easy to access and free of charge. We're here to help and offer a safe space to all who need it.
About This Cause
Yorktown Family Services is a vital community resource for thousands of children, youth, women and families in Toronto’s west end. All programs and services are provided free of charge. We strive to empower individuals and families to enjoy healthy relationships and community life. Our Mission is to uniquely combines a children’s mental health centre and a women’s shelter to strengthen and support children, youth, individuals and families to make positive change and our vision is that children, youth, individuals and families will be living in safe and healthy relationships and communities. We offer counselling services, specialized group programs, parenting programs, youth development programs, and the Provincial Youth Outreach Worker Program. We offer emergency shelter services, transitional housing and support and a child witness program. We provide Child Advocate Workers who offer counselling and support to children and youth living at the shelter. We are the only shelter for abused women and children to employ a Male Child-Advocate Worker, an invaluable positive role model for our clients.
