Mission Statement

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a lay Catholic organization whose mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy. The Mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul implies that as Vincentians we: see Christ in anyone who suffers; come together as a family; have personal contact with the poor; and help in all possible ways.

About This Cause

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul helps all those in need. We bring the love of Christ to serve the poor on a person to person basis. Those in need are always treated with dignity and provided with support to help them obtain the very basic human needs. In Vancouver, our programs include home visitations, food hampers, outreach services, furniture distribution, sandwich and coffee truck in the DTES, two thrift stores to service our communities, and an annual Bursary for post-secondary students.
