Mission Statement
Our Vision at Kids Eat Smart Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador - is that every school aged child in Newfoundland and Labrador attends school well nourished to be ready to learn. Our Foundation sets up and Financial supports Kids Eat Smart Clubs that are operated by over 6200 volunteers, who serve over 31,000 meals every school day! That’s over 5.4 million meals every school year.
About This Cause
Our Foundation supports Kids Eat Smart Clubs in schools and community centres province wide – we are known as The Breakfast Club. Today, we have 268 Kids Eat Smart Clubs, in over 94% of all the school – operated by the assistance of 6200 volunteers - who serve over 31,000 meals every school day! That’s over 5.4 million meals every school year. We could not do this without the support of communities and partners, like your group - Our collective efforts will mean that school aged children will have nutritious food at school to help fuel their bodies and their minds. Our KES Breakfast Clubs are set up to create a warm welcoming environment so that every child is welcome and there is no charge to children or their families. There are many reasons why children do not eat at home. Some children can’t or won’t eat in the mornings, some have long bus rides, others come from busy households and sadly some children do not have food at home. Our Kids Eat Smart Clubs are so important – they help to protect those children who live in poverty or food insecure homes. Together, we are making a difference. $1 Dollar is a breakfast for a child! Your support today, helps us ensure that every school aged child in our province has access to nutritious food, at no cost to the child or their families.
