About This Cause
For more than 30 years, GreenUP has been Peterborough region’s leading organization focused on climate action, environmental education, and community resilience. A non-profit charitable organization, our mission is to inspire and empower environmentally healthy and sustainable action. We offer impactful hands-on environmental education programs, lead inspiring projects that showcase the potential for green, healthy, and active neighbourhoods, and coordinate events and campaigns that enable collaborative action and civic participation. GreenUP presently delivers seven programs that encourage and support people in leading healthy, active lifestyles. In 2019, GreenUP got an estimated 9,951 people moving while they participated in Earth Adventures Camp, Girls’ Climate Leadership Program, Shifting Gears, Finding Balance, Pedal Power, Active School Travel, and Depave Paradise. GreenUP offers a large number of other inspiring programs throughout the year.
