Mission Statement
We are the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation. We are building a $200 million expansion for the Institute. The expansion will allow the Heart Institute to remain at the forefront of cardiovascular care and research, contributing to the advancement of patient care here and around the world. The campaign is well under way.
About This Cause
The University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation is an independent organization motivated by the objectives of the Heart Institute and sanctioned and supported by its own Board of Directors and staff. In 1969, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute was founded on the dream of creating a top-notch cardiovascular facility to serve the needs of Ottawa and the surrounding region. Over the years, that dream has resulted in a world-class cardiovascular centre that integrates patient care, education, and research under an umbrella of excellence, and shapes the cardiovascular landscape locally, nationally, and internationally. The generous and loyal philanthropic support of our community has played a central role in shaping the evolution of the Heart Institute, and your support will become even more important and influential. Our staff works together with countless volunteers who collectively donate thousands of hours every year to support the Heart Institute. We run our business responsibly—well within the accepted Canadian ratio of administrative costs per dollar donated—so that your effort and donations do the most they possibly can for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
