Our mission includes: Ensuring that our games and values enrich the lives and communities of our members, families, and supporters. Advocating for lifelong participation in healthy, physical activity for all. Enabling participation regardless of socio-economic status or financial barriers. Promoting Gaelic Games, culture, and the benefits of a community-based, entirely volunteer-led organisation. Providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants. Applying a sustainable development ethos to managing our resources and activities. Actively seeking to engage with and include all members of our society. Promoting individual development and well-being and striving to enable all our members to achieve their full potential in their lives.
About This Cause
Toronto Chieftains is a youth sports club dedicated to the development of Gaelic Football and Hurling in Toronto and the GTA. Founded in 2008, we have co-ed programs for players from the age of 3 through age 16, and many of our former players have gone on to play in Toronto’s adult leagues as well as international competitions. As a community-based, fully volunteer-led organisation, Toronto Chieftains is a registered not-for-profit organisation and incorporated with the Province of Ontario. The club is also a full member of Canadian GAA, the Canadian national body of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ireland’s largest sporting organisation and celebrated as one of the great amateur sporting associations in the world. We have over 200 children in our program and have won medals in all codes and age grades at the North American Continental Youth Championships (CYC), which are held annually in the United States, as well as the Great Lakes tournaments in Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; and Toronto, ON.
