About This Cause
You never want your child to be sick. Least of all with an aggressive cancer diagnosis. In the past year, we've experienced heartache and grief while our brave Penn went through cancer treatment. And while nothing could have prepared us for what lay ahead, we continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of our family, friends and the Calgary community. Many people have rallied behind us as we courageously take on this rollercoaster journey. We've been inundated with food drop-offs, financial support, toys, and activities. But this isn't the case for everyone. That's why we started Penn the Brave: to provide support so that every child and family going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment feels brave enough to face the journey ahead. Brave enough to find hope. And brave enough to continue finding joy in every precious moment shared. Values: Compassion: Families go through a lot with a cancer diagnosis. We're here to show them compassion and bring joy to their lives during this difficult time. Collaboration: We're committed to collaborating with other non-profits to support the great work they're doing on childhood cancer treatment and research. Community: It's easy to feel isolated and alone, so we want families affected by cancer to feel supported and know that Penn the Brave is here to uplift them.
