About This Cause
Our organization is dedicated to supporting families affected by HIV primarily in Roatan, Honduras. We provide funding for many services (see below) and also educate the children in our private school, Charmont Bilingual Academy. We rely on donations for all of it and thank you for your support! Our major focus is on reducing the incidence of mother-to-child transmission of the virus both at birth and via breast milk. We run testing clinics for pregnant women, assign trained home visitors for mothers living with HIV/AIDS, provide palliative services and, when available, we provide infant formula, medications, and a host of supplies to families struggling to cope with this disease. All of our services are free of charge and staffed mainly with volunteers, both local and international. Charmont Bilingual Academy: We provide a bilingual education in Spanish and English, provide a breakfast and lunch program and a quality school program so the kids can get the good jobs in their own tourist industry or apply for further scholarships. 100% funded by donations
