Equality Global Support Foundation is an initiative that awakens the innate ability of individuals to support one another; leading to a heathier world, one community at a time.
About This Cause
Equality Global Support Foundation is a nonprofit initiative founded out of the lived experiences of dogged individuals from different walks of life. Once successful and making a mark in their chosen careers, but harshly uprooted from their families, networks (professional and social), and forced to flee their home countries due to the risk of persecution they face from the public and even, close family members as a result of their real and perceived sexuality. Once settled in Canada, the founders began to actively help other individuals facing similar situations as them to find their footing and to ultimately make the process of integrating into the Canadian society a less strenuous venture. Within their means, the organization has been providing temporary shelter, food, clothing, furniture employment coaching and other services to newcomers in Canada. They do this with a special focus on displaced members of the LGBTQI community but as well catering for non-LGBTQ individuals as well. Recently, the organization hosted a virtual roundtable discussion with members of the LGBTQ community in Uganda. A country whose lawmakers have recently promulgated a highly homophobic anti-gay law. EGSF continues to actively work with these amazing leaders from Uganda to fashion out the best way to help protect the LGBTQI community in Uganda especially as the recently promulgated anti-gay law has made the situation of this community more precarious. Equality Global Support Foundation is of the firm belief in the possibility of the achievement of equality for all citizens of the world and is committed to implementing actionable programs in Child, Family and Community Development, Youth Development & Justice, Gender, Sexual & Reproductive Health, Population & Human Development and Human Rights to contribute to the improvement of health, social and general human development indicators in the most in need part of the world. Compassion is contagious hence the multiplier effects of our programs are projected to reach multitude of communities, families and individuals around the world. It is our hope that you will be a part of this noble cause in your own little way. Through your generosity, we may be able to provide the most basic needs to individuals in the most remote corners of the world.
