I am currently working as a Paramedic at Toronto Paramedic Services, and have faced COVID-19 on a daily basis. I have witnessed first hand how lethal the virus can be, in addition to how it has devastated vulnerable communities in Toronto. New Nakfa has been a beckon for hope, as we have continued to provide community resources and support. An example of such was the distribution of 500 free health packages to the Eritrean community in the GTA. We were able to to employ youth and provide community support, while mitigating COVID-19 in our community. As we continue to grow in the coming years, we are looking at expanding our programs and services through increased funding and marketing.
