Mission Statement
Our vision is to provide a school environment where twice-exceptional learners are welcomed, become members of a community of peers, and are encouraged to pursue their passions while still being exposed to a well-rounded curriculum. Our Mission is to establish E2 Academy as a first-of-its-kind centre of excellence in Alberta for the education of twice-exceptional children with complex needs and to deliver a unique talent and strength-based program of instruction adapted to the needs of twice-exceptional learners.
About This Cause
E2 Academy is unlike any other school. Our promise is to use our talent, strength-based, and student-centered program to educate twice-exceptional students. We educate a diverse population of individuals that think outside-the-box and have a range of strengths, interests and learning differences. We believe a program designed around the strengths of our students offers the best chance of unlocking their enormous potential. We also understand their asynchronous development, cognitive and psychological needs are very different from those of their neurotypical peers. We help students thrive academically, socially and emotionally by providing a psychologically safe community where they are valued for what they can do, not what they cannot do, and an educational program that is synchronized to their developmental pace of learning. Our academic staff and administration are flexible, understanding, and creative in their approaches to respond to the multiplicity of needs of each student. They are devoted to the social, academic and creative growth of our 2e students. Receiving an education encompasses more than checking off a list of required courses. It should be a personalized journey involving learning about ourselves and focusing on personal development. Twice-exceptional students succeed best when they become aware of their strengths and their challenges, develop autonomy and independence in their learning and become the principal architects of their lives.
