Mission Statement

To help children in Edmonton and area overcome the difficulties of dyslexia. We are volunteers who are trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to teach reading, writing and spelling to Dyslexic Children.

About This Cause

Our C.R.A. registered foundation operates a free school for tutoring dyslexic children between the ages of 8 and 14, using the capabilities of certified tutors and qualified monitors. Our operating budget of about $90,000.00 per year is developed from private and corporate donations, Alberta Casino proceeds and various other ways and means projects. Tutoring takes about 200+ hours, or about 2 to 3 years of one-on-one schooling at our locations in Athlone School, 129 Street and 129 Avenue, Edmonton, Monday to Thursday, September to June each year.
