Empowering disadvantaged youth and their communities to become Smart Villages.
About This Cause
We are a registered Canadian charity, providing learning and capacity building programs to youth in rural and remote communities so they can transform themselves into 'Smart Villages'. In Canada we provide direct service to remote First Nations and Indigenous communities, whilst overseas in India and select African nations, we work in partnership with empaneled grassroots NGOs. Who we Impact: Static inequality faced by disadvantaged populations leads to intergenerational poverty. Almost 600 million extremely poor live in rural areas. Rural communities and their young lives are the most vulnerable – their potential is wasted. What we Impact: Our scalable smart villages initiative focuses on the three pillars of the Human Development Index – Health, Education and Employment. Our approach is anchored in indigenous potential. We believe “Prosperity is the result of pervasive indigenous innovation…” How we Impact: Empower each individual to discover and manifest their potential. Help people manifest their creative genius and make their communities ‘smart’ through learning and sharing. People are the solution, not the problem. Our multi-disciplinary Board comprises professionals with experience and expertise in international management consulting, fundraising, technology and data science as well world renowned academicians with expertise in Mathematics. Board Members are actively involved in design and implementation of services as well in research and publication especially in the area of Smart Villages. In addition to collaborating with grassroots NGOs to support local program delivery, we have institutional collaborations with leaders like The Punjab Agricultural University, India,; Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, Toronto, Media and Entertainment Skills Council of India etc. Our program delivery is supported through grants and volunteer resources.
