Mission Statement
Juving Nepal Development Society is a group of Canadian volunteers that aims to improve the standard of living in Juving 6, a community in rural Nepal. Focusing on education and development, we work in partnership with the people of Juving to undertake projects that have a direct and positive impact for this community.
About This Cause
The Juving Nepal Development Society, a registered Canadian charity, aims to improve the standard of living in Juving 6, a mountainous region with a subsistence economy in rural Nepal. In 2009, we began providing funds to build a six room school that now provides education up to grade five for 80 children. Other initiatives have included purchasing two classroom computers, supplying the children annually with warm clothing to wear to school, providing scholarships to keep older children in school and paying wages for four teachers. Because of these efforts, in just a few short years education has effectively become universal in Juving 6. All our work is accomplished through volunteers and we value the strong community that has formed to support this work. Further projects in Juving are ongoing and we invite you to join us in making a real difference in this remote Himalayan region.
