Mission Statement

Support the welfare and well-being of orangutans, both in the rehabilitation facility at the Orangutan Care Centre and Quarantine, Pasir Panjan, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, and at one or more release camps located in preserved tropical rain forests in Central Kalimantan (the orangutans' natural wild habitat).

About This Cause

The purposes of the society are: a. To conserve and protect orangutans through the operation of an orangutan rehabilitation facility and orangutan release camps in Indonesia. b. To conserve and protect the tropical rain forests in Indonesia, which constitute the orangutan's habitat. c. To study orangutans and their ecology in order to develop best practices for their protection and conservations. d. To educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the importance or organgutans, their ecology, rain forests, and conservation issues through educational seminars, printed materials and the Internet.
