Mission Statement

The Assiniboine Park Conservancy exists to enhance the Assiniboine Park experience for present and future generations.

About This Cause

Founded in 2008, The Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) is a private/public, not-for-profit, charitable organization responsible for the operation of Winnipeg’s historic Assiniboine Park. APC is also responsible for establishing the future vision for the Park and Zoo and carrying out this transformation while protecting the Park’s cherished character and ensuring its long-term financial viability. APC has a 50-year lease with the City of Winnipeg, which owns the property and assets. Nestled in the heart of Winnipeg, set on 400 acres, Assiniboine Park is one of Winnipeg's most cherished assets. With over 5 million visitors annually, Assiniboine Park is Winnipeg’s premier outdoor attraction, providing immeasurable social, recreational, educational, and economic value to our city. The Park is home to numerous attractions that share the wonders of nature. Assiniboine Park Zoo provides opportunities to learn about animals and see them up close. A stunning new destination, The Leaf: Canada’s Diversity Gardens, is a four-season horticultural attraction showcasing diverse plant life from around the world. Wide open green spaces, breathtaking gardens and the Park's network of trails encourage people to get outdoors and be active. A diverse selection of educational programs and events provide year-round opportunities for learning and growing that strengthen the bonds that connect us as a community. APC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community leaders whose affection for Assiniboine Park translates into a deep sense of responsibility to our stakeholders. They provide leadership, valuable guidance, and essential connections to the communities we serve.
