Mission Statement

Our mission at the Gordie Howe Center for Alzheimer's Research and Education Society (C.A.R.E.S) is to improve the lives caregivers of those impacted by Alzheimer's and dementia. By providing education, support, and research to better understand the disease and the impact caregiving has on loved ones.

About This Cause

Caregivers provide invaluable support and care to their loved ones living with dementia or Alzheimer's. With access to proper support and resources, caregivers and their loved ones can enjoy a better quality of life. Gordie Howe CARES is focused on positively impacting caregivers through efforts in the following strategic areas: Research: We fund leading research on personal, environmental and lifestyle factors that provide protection against dementia and inform dementia caregiving. Education: We provide employers with resources that can help them support their employees who are providing dementia caregiving. Support: We provide specialized support and guidance that addresses the unique challenges of caregivers, with a focus on resilience, wellbeing and community.
