Mission Statement

Kids Code Jeunesse is dedicated to empowering kids and educators, with a particular focus on girls and kids from disadvantaged groups, with the skills we all need to thrive in a technology driven society.

About This Cause

Kids Code Jeunesse (KCJ)’s mission is to give as many Canadian children as possible the opportunity to learn computational thinking through code. We are Canadian leaders in providing hands-on digital skills learning for educators. Since 2013, we have delivered our workshops to over 6000 teachers across Canada, in both English and French. We bring code into classrooms by training teachers & providing in-classroom workshops, developing and offering free teaching materials, helping ministries and school boards implement code, computational thinking, and physical computing into curriculums, and encouraging teachers and librarians to start free Code Clubs in their schools. Kids Code Jeunesse (KCJ) is a national, bilingual not for profit organization. Since 2013, we have reached more than 4300 educators and over 150,000 kids in English and in French. We’re igniting young minds across Canada by teaching kids, their teachers, and their parents to code. Learning computational thinking, coding, and physical computing provides youth with the skills needed to create, communicate, and innovate with the tools of the 21st century. By introducing code into classrooms and communities, we’re able to create a new generation of thinkers, creators and doers.
