Mission Statement

Our mission is to respond to the global need for clean water by providing as many people with access to safe drinking water as possible while teaching good hygiene practices to prevent the transmission of disease.

About This Cause

Water Ambassadors Canada is a faith based, registered Canadian humanitarian water agency. We drill and rehabilitate wells, install chlorination and filtration systems, build Biosand filters, distribute Sawyer filters and teach health and hygiene in order to provide safe drinking water to those without in the developing world. While we currently mainly serve in Central and South America (Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Belize, Colombia) we have done some work in Haiti, Dominican Republic, DR Congo and Uganda in the past as well. A major part of our mission is sending volunteer water teams to do the work of providing safe drinking water to vulnerable communities. Each volunteer self-funds for their expenses (CA$3200/person based on flying out of Toronto), all in and all tax receipted. We also rely on sponsors (individual, private, church and corporate) to help us fund the material cost for each water project. Each water project (whether a chlorination system or a well rehabilitation) requires CA$2500, with each project serving an average of 200-400 people in those community. Ultimately, we believe that having access to clean water is a basic human right and it is our hope and goal to reach as many people as we can with safe drinking water. Together, we are changing lives with clean water!
