Mission Statement

Our approach to philanthropy is simple—we believe in people. Rather than categorizing people in need, we empower them to transform their circumstances. By identifying gaps and strategically investing in sustainable solutions, we’re able to facilitate real change in the areas of clean water, agriculture, health, education and economic initiatives. Because 100% of your donation goes directly to where it’s needed most, all donations big or small help us provide the most effective and sustainable support possible to communities in need.

About This Cause

Founded in 2007 by Treana Peake, the Obakki Foundation is the charitable counterpart of Obakki. Our work in Uganda, South Sudan, Cameroon, and Mexico is as diverse as the people who benefit because we believe opportunity comes in many forms. To date, the Obakki Foundation has drilled over 4,000 wells providing clean water to over 4 million people and we’ve built 12 schools giving 20,000 children access to education. Treana’s livelihood initiatives in Uganda’s Bidi Bidi refugee camp have impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands more. The Obakki brand and a group of angel investors absorb all administrative costs for the Foundation, allowing 100% of all donations to go directly to its programs.
