Mission Statement
The Prince George Humane Society is a community based registered charity that provides a haven for abused and neglected animals in Northern BC. Also, focusing on spay/ neuter, vaccination, animal management, bite prevention and humane education for those whom reside on First Nation communities.
About This Cause
To promote the welfare of animals for the benefit of the public, Operating a foster care program for lost, abandoned, surrendered, stray or abused animals that have been rescued. Operating an animal adoption program for rescued animals that have been deemed adoptable. Providing necessary veterinary care for rescued animals. To educate the public by providing education on the humane treatment and care of animals To advance education by providing a publicly available bursary for low income students. To advance education by providing programs, resources and materials to local school teachers on Humane education. Mission Statement To offer exceptional animal welfare and outreach services to the Prince George, BC community, northern British Columbia region, rural and first nation communities. To ensure our animal welfare activities are of the north and for the north, reflecting and representing northern British Columbia needs and built in the north solutions, while providing national and international standards of care for animals within our care. To operate in a fair, transparent and accountable manner, ensuring our actions, our policies and our rationales are always transparent to our staff, members, donors, and the public. To operate in a manner whereby benefits are clear and accessible to northern British Columbia communities. To ensure all donations remain in the north to benefit northern animals, with occasional extraordinary exceptions, such as provincial animal emergencies, to be agreed upon by the Board. To offer a welcoming, safe and supportive environment to our staff, our volunteers, our donors and our community. To be a safe haven for northern animals, and to ensure all receive exceptional care, and a second chance.
