About This Cause
Powered by a committed and passionate national network, since 2005, our programs and special projects inspire inclusion, celebrate newcomers, and encourage active citizenship. Our goal: to unlock Canada for newcomers. The Canoo Access Pass provides permanent residents and new citizens with free admission to over 1400 of Canada’s best culture and nature attractions, free and discounted access to concerts, activities, cinema, professional sports, and exclusive deals with some of Canada’s leading brands. Since relaunching Canoo in May 2022 and opening the program to permanent residents for the first time, we are averaging 12,000 newcomers downloading and using the program. We will soon serve and support more newcomers than all other federal government-funded settlement agencies combined – for about 0.5% of the cost. Ideas and Insights is a primary centre of expertise about immigration and citizenship in Canada. Our original research and public opinion polling are leading a shift in the discourse around immigration in Canada; the country is beginning to realize that newcomers’ experience of life in Canada is diverging from our aspiration to be a truly welcoming society where newcomers thrive. Building Citizenship delivers 70 enhanced citizenship ceremonies annually. We’ve sworn in more than 15,000 citizens so far…and counting!
