Mission Statement
To "help people with physical disabilities to live inclusive and independent lives" the Canadian Disability Resources Society is a Charitable organization that empowers Canadians with disabilities by providing them access to medical equipment to help them live healthier, more active lives. We assist these individuals in their mental and physical well-being. We do this by providing them access to over 500 service providers and with a free online classifieds service that includes wheelchairs, walkers, canes, mobility aids, and more.
About This Cause
The Canadian Disability Resources Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of Canadians living with disabilities. We aim to improve both their mental and physical wellness by offering access to vital medical equipment. Through partnerships with over 500 service providers, as well as a complimentary online marketplace, we offer a range of mobility aids including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and more. Specifically, our initiatives focus on enhancing well-being by redistributing gently-used medical equipment to those facing social and economic barriers. In addition, we develop and distribute educational resources concerning disability-related topics, aiming to inform both individuals with physical disabilities and the broader public. Our community-backed programs address essential mobility issues, providing direct assistance to individuals with physical challenges by offering special needs equipment that may otherwise be inaccessible or unaffordable. We fulfill our mission through the generous support of the community, mainly via our medical equipment recycling program. Through this initiative, we provide essential medical equipment at no cost to those who require it.
