Mission Statement
The Amazon Rainforest Conservancy (ARC) is a registered Canadian Charity. ARC protects, conserves and restores threatened tropical rainforest habitats in the Amazon for the benefit of future generations.
About This Cause
The Amazon rainforest is dying. In the time it took you to read that sentence, another acre of rainforest has been lost. As the “lungs of our planet” it represents one of Earth’s most vital support systems. And yet it’s under constant threat – its conservation is more crucial than ever. A dying Amazon affects families and economies worldwide. We’re already experiencing extreme weather events and disease outbreaks connected to the massive amounts of carbon released into the atmosphere. The reduction in rainfall is leading to water and food shortages and mass extinctions of plant and animal species. For generations, the Amazon rainforest has stood as an awe-inspiring testament to the magic and power of nature. And we need a healthy Amazon rainforest as it plays a key role in the basic functioning of our planet. There are few organizations on the ground actively protecting the world’s greatest rainforest. Amazon Rainforest Conservancy (ARC) has accepted this challenge. Join us in protecting the Amazon.
