Mission Statement
Children of Hope Uganda operates a vocational school and nursery school in Barlonyo, Northern Uganda, site of the 2004 massacre of 301 villagers by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army
About This Cause
Since 2007 Children of Hope Uganda has paid partial school fees for 163 children orphaned by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army. In 2010, COHU built a vocational school in Barlonyo to train formerly abducted youth in carpentry, bricklaying and tailoring. In 2012 COHU built in Barlonyo a nursery school. COHU sponsors 20 young women at university who had been abducted and held in LRA captivity for 8 years. COHU also pays partial school fees for the 18 children of these university beneficiaries who were born of rape in LRA captivity.
