VISION: Through its medical relief and development projects, CMAT seeks to improve the health and welfare of families both in Canada and in developing countries around the world. About CMAT Canadian Medical Assistance Teams Canadian Medical Assistance Teams (CMAT) is a Canadian-run grassroots disaster relief organization made up of medical professionals and non-medical volunteers who selflessly give their time and resources to assist and provide relief aid to the victims of natural and man-made disasters around the world. CMAT teams have responded to numerous crisis situations including the Southeast Asian Tsunami (2004), earthquake ravaged Kashmir, Pakistan (2005), Sichuan, China (2008), Haiti (2010) and Nepal (2015), as well as cyclone and flood-affected Bangladesh (2007). CMAT has accumulated a database of over one thousand skilled health care professionals from across Canada.
