About This Cause
Artscape is a not-for-profit development organization that makes space for creativity and transforms communities, achieving its mission through the development and management of spaces across Toronto. Currently, Artscape maintains 15 unique spaces across Toronto, including affordable housing and community cultural and creative entrepreneurship hubs. At its outset, Artscape aimed to ensure that artists had the affordable spaces they needed to create while also demonstrating the potential for arts and culture to bring vibrancy and prosperity to communities. Over the past 30 years Artscape projects have helped to build a new understanding of the catalytic impact cultural projects have on the revitalization of their neighbourhoods. Over the past three years, Artscape has invested in new facilities, programs and services to help over 20,000 artists and creative entrepreneurs thrive.
