Shri Sadguru Sai Baba Mandir of Edmonton is a registered nonprofit charitable organization committed to fostering spiritual growth, cultural enrichment, and community service. Founded in 2008, the Mandir serves as a multifaceted hub for the Edmonton community, delivering essential programs and services that address both the spiritual and social needs of individuals and families from all walks of life. Key Areas of Service 1. Spiritual and Cultural Enrichment The Mandir offers a sacred space for prayer, meditation, and spiritual teachings. We host regular religious services, community prayers, cultural festivals, and spiritual discourses, while also providing educational programs in Vedic and Sanskrit studies. Cultural celebrations such as Hindu Heritage Month, Alberta Culture Days, and Canada Day are observed to encourage multicultural understanding and civic engagement. 2. Food Security and Homeless Outreach We provide free cooked meals to the homeless community through partnerships with shelters and senior centers. Over 100 meals are served weekly to homeless seniors at the Operation Friendship Center, and we make regular donations to the Edmonton Food Bank. Winter clothing, hygiene kits, and essential supplies are also distributed to those in need, particularly during harsh weather conditions. 3. Immigrant and Refugee Support Recognizing the challenges faced by newcomers, we offer free support services to new immigrants, including: - Job placement assistance - Resume building and interview preparation - English as a Second Language (ESL) programs - Networking opportunities and mentorship These programs empower individuals and families to integrate confidently and successfully into Canadian society. 4. Free Facility Access for Nonprofits To promote civic engagement and cross-sector collaboration, our Mandir offers free access to community halls and spaces for nonprofit organizations and community partners to host educational, cultural, and service-based events. Community Reach With over 3,000 member families and the dedication of 150+ active volunteers, the Mandir has grown into a respected community institution in Edmonton. We serve individuals from all cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds, and emphasize values of unity, compassion, and service. The new facility will include: - A large Darshan and meditation hall - Commercial kitchen and banquet-ready prasadam hall - Classrooms, senior lounge, library, and community rooms - Ample parking and accessible design throughout This new Mandir will serve as a landmark for spiritual reflection, community connection, education, and charitable outreach—offering a holistic space where all are welcome.
