Mission Statement

Founded in 1982, The Vietnamese Women’s Association of Toronto (VWAT) through its VWAT Family Services has been playing an important role in helping integration of refugees and immigrant families into the Canadian society. In the past 42 years, VWAT has continued to evolve, develop and sustain a multi-cultural centre for newcomers, families, youth and seniors. We are aware of the diverse cultural profile in our Canadian society and have a mandate to address the needs of newcomers of all cultural and social backgrounds with the goals of not only aiding in the integration but also creating a sense of belonging. The Vietnamese Women’s Association of Toronto is committed to advancing education, providing counselling, promoting healthy living, and encouraging integration for newcomer communities, raising awareness of domestic violence, and fostering community development.
