Canadian Network For The Prevention of Elder Abuse/Réseau Canadien Pour La Prévention du Mauvais Traitement Des Ainés

Vancouver, British Columbia, V5N1X4 Canada

Mission Statement

We connect people and organizations, foster the exchange of reliable information, and advance program and policy development on issues related to preventing the abuse of older adults. We do this work at the local, regional, provincial/territorial, and national levels.

About This Cause

We are the only pan-Canadian network dedicated to the issues of elder abuse, neglect and ageism. CNPEA is supported by individual and organizational members who are leaders in aging, research, healthcare, and elder abuse prevention and response across the country. Our goals are to: - Create opportunities to rethink how we view aging and include older people in our communities; - Empower older adults to protect themselves and each other through practical, evidence-based community-centered resources; - Build a holistic approach to elder abuse prevention, intervention and support across sectors and jurisdictions.
