Mission Statement
Access Community Capital Fund empowers underserved entrepreneurs across Canada to launch, grow, and sustain their small businesses through affordable financing, hands-on training, and inclusive community support. We break down systemic barriers to economic opportunity by providing microloans, mentorship, and skill-building programs that help individuals—particularly newcomers, women, and youth—achieve financial independence and long-term success.
About This Cause
Access Community Capital Fund (Access) is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to creating economic opportunity through inclusive entrepreneurship. Since 1999, Access has supported hundreds of underrepresented entrepreneurs who face systemic barriers to traditional financing—helping them transform ideas into thriving businesses that strengthen local communities. We believe in a Canada where everyone, regardless of background or financial history, has equitable access to the resources needed to succeed. Access achieves this through a three-part model of financing, training, and mentorship that bridges the gap between ambition and opportunity. Our programs are designed to serve individuals often excluded from conventional banking—such as newcomers, women, racialized individuals, and youth aged 16–34—by providing them with the tools to build confidence, credit, and community impact. Core Programs: Access Business Lab: A comprehensive entrepreneurship development program offering business planning, mentorship, workshops, and networking to help early-stage entrepreneurs validate and grow their ideas. Participants gain practical business skills, access to experienced coaches, and opportunities to showcase their ventures through our Access Marketplace events. Access AI for Entrepreneurs: A new innovation stream that integrates artificial intelligence and digital literacy into small business development. This program helps participants leverage technology for marketing, operations, and financial management—ensuring they remain competitive in a rapidly evolving economy. Microloan Program and Loan Guarantee Fund: In partnership with financial institutions, Access provides character-based microloans to help individuals start or expand their businesses when traditional credit is not an option. Beyond capital, Access fosters a supportive community that values equity, empowerment, and impact. Our approach creates ripple effects—each business supported generates jobs, local economic growth, and pathways to financial stability. Access Community Capital Fund’s work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, and Gender Equality, while advancing Canada’s vision for a more inclusive and resilient economy.
