West Island Community Shares does this by raising funds thanks to the generosity of our donors, corporate partners and foundations. We have a deep understanding of the needs of our community and work closely with local community groups to ensure your donation has the most impact.
About This Cause
West Island Community Shares is a charitable organization dedicated to building a strong, resilient, inclusive, and healthy community across the West Island of Montreal. For more than 27 years, our mission has remained consistent: to provide recurrent, unrestricted funding to over 40 local community organizations that deliver critical services to those who need them most. These organizations operate in six essential areas: Supporting vulnerable populations, Empowering women, Providing basic necessities, Fostering healthy bodies and healthy minds, Developing strong and resilient children and teens, and Supporting green initiatives. By investing directly in the operational stability of these organizations, we ensure that frontline services—food banks, mental health programs, youth mentoring, shelters, and more—remain accessible, reliable, and responsive.
