Mission Statement
Arthritis Research Canada’s internationally recognized scientific team is currently conducting over 100 research studies across the country aimed at preventing arthritis, facilitating early diagnosis, finding better treatments, and improving quality of life. We are committed to finding solutions for over six million Canadians, of all ages, affected by arthritis. Your donation to Arthritis Research Canada goes directly to research that matters and is making a critical difference in people’s lives. Through research, we are helping people diagnosed with arthritis stay employed, finding ways to prevent serious, life-threatening arthritis complications like heart attacks and strokes, creating a program to prevent osteoarthritis from happening after a sports injury, and determining the safety of COVID-19 vaccines for people who have compromised immune systems. These are only a few examples of how our research is helping to reduce the burden of arthritis. Your support can make a big difference.
About This Cause
Arthritis Research Canada was created in 1999 in recognition of the tremendous potential that research can bring to arthritis treatment in Canada and around the world. Our organization has earned international attention as a leading arthritis research institution. As the largest arthritis research centre in North America, we are building a strong multi-disciplinary research team of outstanding medical doctors and research scientists, and we willingly collaborate with medical professionals globally. With centres in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec, we are dedicated to understanding, advancing and sharing knowledge about the causes of arthritis, and addressing issues that are impacting people with arthritis right now. We are proudly affiliated with five major Canadian universities, including the University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University (SFU), University of Calgary, Université Laval, and McGill University.
