About This Cause
The team at Next Chapter Society is working hard to fill the gaps in support and programming for families who have experienced divorce or separation across the province of Alberta. We developed The Next Chapter Program: Rebuilding After Divorce, a psycho-educational support program for parents who have recently separated from their partner. This program promotes parental healing, effective communication, co-parenting and developmentally appropriate support for their children through the transition. Next Chapter Society also offers community based trainings for professionals and community agencies to run the internationally acclaimed Rainbows program for their community members. Rainbows is a free program for children and their families to access facilitated peer support to process grief related to divorce, separation, and death. We have brought the Rainbows program to over 80 sites across Alberta. Our team partners with other community organizations to increase access to support and programs for families who are adjusting to life after a divorce or separation. We see a future where all families are able to thrive following a divorce or separation and professionals have the skills to support these families in their various community programs.
