About This Cause

Community Head Injury Resources Services of Toronto (CHIRS) the beneficiary of donations to the CHIRS Foundation is a multi-service agency that provides a broad range of supports and services to a clientele with diverse and complex needs. CHIRS is a not-for-profit charitable organization which started in 1978 is funded primarily by the Local Health Integration Network and the Ontario Ministry of Health. CHIRS has earned the highest level of accreditation by Accreditation Canada since 1997. To earn this award the agency is assessed against national acquired brain injury (ABI) standards. CHIRS is also one of 14 programs in the world included in the "Casebook of Exemplary Evidence-Informed Programs that foster community participation after ABI" making CHIRS a recognized center of excellence worldwide.
