Mission Statement

Changing the Trajectory of Children’s Mental Health. Through clinical excellence and a continuum of mental health services, the George Hull Centre for Children and Families’ mission is to reduce suffering, provide hope and enhance the quality of life of infants, children, youth and families.

About This Cause

As a leader in the field of children’s mental health, the George Hull Centre for Children and Families helps infants, children, youth and their families achieve mental wellness. We do this through innovative, evidence-based and evidence-informed treatment services and programs designed to meet the evolving needs of our community, and an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence across assessment, treatment, prevention and education. Our multidisciplinary team see children from infancy to 18, together with their families, providing help and support to children whose lives are impacted by mental health issues, many in very complex ways. By tailoring treatment to a child’s unique needs and nurturing their core strengths and key family relationships, we reverse the downward spiral brought on by mental health challenges, ease their suffering, and provide hope when they need it the most. We are a full service, community-based children’s mental health centre in Etobicoke helping thousands of families annually. We are affiliated with the University of Toronto as a Teaching Centre for their students. The Centre is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. We are proudly recognized as one of the top 100 charities in Canada by Charity Intelligence Canada. A CONTINUUM OF INTEGRATED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES We help meet a wide range of mental health needs by providing comprehensive and integrated programs and services across prevention, early intervention, and treatment services including a community clinic, residential and in-home programs and specialized day treatment classrooms for elementary and secondary students. EVERY CHILD DESERVES MENTAL WELLNESS Children’s mental health is one of the most critical issues of our time. When coping with a mental health challenge, young people’s talents, skills and potential are submerged by feelings of sadness, anger and hopelessness, holding them back from the happy and fulfilling lives they each deserve. Research has proven that early intervention is critical to providing a hopeful and healthy future for children struggling with their mental health. That is what makes our work at The George Hull Centre for Children and Families so critical. Supporting children’s mental health is an investment in our children and families, in our communities, our society and our future.
